This is the Vacheron Constantin 4715. Founded in 1755 by Jean-Marc Vacheron at a tender young age of 24, Vacheron Constantin is the world’s oldest continually operating watch manufacturer. A rich history of producing quality of the highest standards, the brand has undoubtedly been one of the most resilient as well, surviving both world wars and many other historical events along the way.
Originally renowned for producing pocket watches with the highest level of engineering and artistry, the brand opened its first boutique in Geneva during the early 20th century and started producing wristwatches during the 1940s. Often characterized by the fancy lugs and guilloche dials, the brand’s identity was often tied to its elegance and creativity and it is from this period of the mid-20th century that the 4175 was born.
Typical of Vacheron Constantin dress watches of the time, the 4715 features a guilloche dial with a small seconds indicator at the six. Classically sized at 33.5mm with Arabic and baton indices, the 4715 has a timeless aesthetic. The reference is powered by the brand’s Cal. 1001 – a manual-winding movement produced by Jaeger-LeCoultre exclusively for Vacheron Constantin which remained in production across two decades as testament to its reliability.
While the reference 4715 may not be the most well-known reference, it is certainly a quintessential representation of the brand from the 1950s. While seemingly simple in design, the quality and elegance of the watch is truly aligned with the brand’s unwavering identity.

This Vacheron Constantin 4715 is in good vintage condition. There are signs of wear on the case sides and bezel consistent with its age without any major dings or dents. The caseback is mostly in good condition with an obvious hairline near the bottom lugs. The hallmark on the lug is still legible. The case remains sharp with defined edges. The dial is clean and the original Vacheron Constantin signature at the 12 displays some fading. The watch comes with its original buckle with on box or papers and is in full working order.
