This is the Audemars Piguet Edward Piguet Quantieme Perpetual 25682BA. Now perhaps more associated with sports watches under its Royal Oak line, it’s worth noting that the brand actually started with the manufacturing of complicated timepieces and has a strong lineage in complications. Its first grand complication, a pocket watch, was released back in 1899. This was followed by the thinnest calibre for a pocket watch in the early 1900s, the first skeletonized pocket watch and subsequently the world’s thinnest wristwatch. Highly significant to the history of horology, the brand was and still is a key contributor to the world of complicated timepieces.
The reference 25682BA forms part of the lesser-known Edward Piguet collection that is known for its rectangular case shape. A collection named after one of the two founding fathers of the brand, the Edward Piguet remains the dressier of the brand’s catalogue and remains an understated part of the brand’s history. Powered by the ultra-thin manual winding cal. 2003 by Jager-LeCoultre with the Dubois Depraz perpetual calendar module 2805QP, the 25682BA is befitting of the brand given that it is considered the first to produce a true perpetual calendar with the reference 5548. In spite of the complication, the watch retains moderate dimensions given the thinness of the movement and remains delightfully wearable.
With a desirable dial configuration of Breguet numerals, leaf-shaped hands and recessed subdials, the Edward Piguet Quantieme Perpetual is truly a reference that while lesser-known, is no less important and impressive. While the silvered dial is informative, it remains highly legible. Given that the perpetual calendar remains a highly fascinating part of the brand’s history, this under-the-radar reference represents a chance to collect one of the brand’s best kept secrets.

This Audemars Piguet 25682BA is in very good pre-owned condition. The dial is clean and the case remains in excellent shape with no dings or dents. All caseback engravings and hallmarks are still deep and legible with only some surface hairlines on the caseback. There is a notable surface hairline near the date pusher which can be polished off upon request. The watch retains its original AP 18K yellow gold pin buckle but does not come with the box, papers or original AP strap. The watch is in full working order.
