Tudor Submariner 75190
Description
This is the Tudor Submariner reference 75190. This timepiece is dated the same year as when the 75190s were introduced - 1995. It was the first Tudor submariner reference to employ a uni-directional bezel on a ratchet system and the first Tudor Submariner to be fitted with sapphire crystals. No longer were the words “Oyster” printed on the dial as a move to differentiate themselves from Rolex. This variant of a Tudor Submariner with a steel bezel was produced 2 years after the original Submariner with the regular aluminium bezels. This particular Tudor Submariner comes with fully original parts on a Tudor signed 62450 jubilee bracelet stamped Z9 with matching 626 stamped endlinks. Though Tudor has always been in Rolex’s shadow, even releasing Submariners after its parent company, they seem to be carving out their own identity as the times pass. Today, Tudor Submariners are far rarer than Rolex ones and they represent collectors that are often on the other end of the horological spectrum.
Condition
This Tudor 75190 is in near mint condition for a watch of its age. It shows almost no visible signs of wear. The bracelet has no stretch at all and comes fully linked. The crystal and dial are both clean and the bezel winds smoothly. It runs at +1.1s/d and the date change is consistent. Overall, exceptional condition for its age.
