Rolex Day-Date 18038
Description
This is the Rolex Day-Date 18038. Within the Rolex line, the Day-Date is often the model that is associated with the highest level of prestige. Introduced in 1956, it was the first timepiece to display both the day and the date on the dial. The nickname, “The President”, was derived from this timepiece being gifted to then President Dwight Eisenhower. A lesser known fact, however, is that the nickname actually refers to the bracelet that accompanies the watch rather than the entire timepiece itself. Given that this is only a single quickset, the price of the 18038 still remains relatively reasonable in comparison to the newer models and hence, this reference provides excellent value for money.
Condition
This Rolex Day-Date 18038 is in very good condition. While the polish history is unknown, the lugs remain thick and even. The dial and crystal remain unblemished and the case shows minimal signs of wear despite its age. On the side of the case, there is a noticeable ding near the crown on an otherwise well-maintained case.
