Omega "Speedy Tuesday" Speedmaster 311.32.42.30.01.001

Description

This is the Omega “Speedy Tuesday” Speedmaster. Likely the model that’s most associated with the Omega brand, this iconic chronograph was introduced in 1957 as a sports and racing chronograph. Originally powered by the famous Calibre 321, the Omega Speedmaster was worn by astronauts on space missions as they needed a watch that could withstand the conditions of outer space and in 1964, only Omega’s Speedmaster passed the rigorous selection criteria.

Conceived in 2017 in conjunction with watch magazine Fratello Watches to celebrate five years since the creation of the now widely-used #speedytuesday hashtag, the watch was launched in a limited edition of 2012 pieces and exclusively sold online. The first ever reverse-panda Speedmaster, the design of the Speedy Tuesday 1 was refreshing and attractive, with luminous subdials, markers and hands while maintaining Speedmaster traditions such as the hesalite crystal and the famed 1861 movement.

As far as collectible modern Omegas go, the Speedy Tuesday 1 is definitely among the most popular. It was also the first Omega watch to be sold online and remains highly desirable some 5 years after the initial release. It was really to no one’s surprise that it was sold out immediately despite being a relatively under-the-radar release.

Condition

This Omega “Speedy Tuesday” Speedmaster is in like new condition. It has only been worn a handful of times with no signs of wear and comes complete with a full set of box and warranty. The watch is in full working order.
