IWC Ingenieur 3506
Description
This is the IWC Ingenieur 3506. Originally introduced in the 1950s under the reference 666, the Ingenieur was powered by the Pellaton winding system that was designed by Albert Pellaton. The winding system was also used to power other famous IWC Calibres such as the Calibre 89. In the 70s, the legendary Gerald Genta was hired by IWC to redesign their flagship sports model. The integrated bracelet was reminiscent of other Genta designs such as the Royal Oak and the popularity of the original Ingenieur, the 1832, has seen a recent surge. This particular reference, the 3506, was introduced in the 80s and produced only for a short period of time. It runs on the IWC 37531 movement which is based on ETA’s workhorse 2892 movement.
Condition
This IWC 3506 is in excellent pre-owned condition. The case shows some light signs of wear but remains in very good condition for its age. The dial is clean with no signs of age and the crystal has no flaws. The serial number is still very clear on the caseback and the bracelet has no stretch with 23 links that fits a wrist size of up to 6.5”. The watch has just gone through a IWC service in 2017 and hands are superluminova replacements from IWC.
