Description

This is the Breguet Classique Chronograph reference 3237. While Breguet may not be the first brand mentioned by collectors today, the brand has one of the strongest legacies when it comes to watchmaking. Originally established in the late 18th century, Louis Breguet was an early adopter of the steel hands with circle motifs, the curved numerals and the guilloche pattern on the dial. The design language is distinctive even up till today. The “Souscription”, a single-hand pocket watch, is one of the most important and famous pocket watches in history. In the early 19th century, Louis Breguet invented the Tourbillion, which is one of the most sought after complications in horology. The aforementioned reference, the 3237, is powered by the historically important Lemania 2310, also used by other defining chronographs such as the Patek Philippe 5070 and the Vacheron Constantin 47101. Some may say that this base movement saved the Swiss watch industry after the quartz crisis. Given the increase in demand of these important chronograph references, there’s little reason why the Breguet 3237 should fall far behind.

Condition

This Breguet 3237 is in excellent pre-owned condition. The case has no major dings, with very faint hairlines from careful prior wear. There are some light hairlines on the gold caseback. Both front and back crystals are nick-free and the dial is clean with no signs of age. It retains the original Breguet strap and buckle and the original green Breguet box. The watch is in full working order.
